Bamboo sticks naturally have unique properties. The appearance of bamboo varies depending on the species and treatment, and within the same species there can be major differences in colour, spots, stripes, shape, size, surface finish and dimensions. The bamboo sticks grow in a cone-shaped pattern, with thick or thin-walled and more or less straight sticks.
After harvesting, the bamboo sticks are carefully sorted, dried, and if necessary treated and cleaned. During harvesting and transport, the bamboo sticks can be partially damaged, as they do not have a protective bark. Because bamboo is a natural product, a certain degree of contamination can occur. In general, the color of the bamboo sticks will adjust in the first few months.
In rare cases, mold stains and superficial mold growth may occur, but this does not affect the structural properties and can be prevented and removed by cleaning.
Bamboo sticks are graded according to their minimum and maximum diameter at the thick end, with a tolerance of approximately +/- 8% from specification.
