What size duvet cover do I need?
Choose your duvet cover to fit your duvet, rather than relying only on the width of your bed. Check the label or measure the duvet laid flat. This helps you avoid a cover with empty corners or filling that moves around inside it.
Which duvet cover size fits my duvet?
The first measurement is the width and the second is the length. For a 240 × 220 cm duvet, look for a cover designed for 240 × 220 cm. Names such as single, double or king can vary between brands and countries, so compare the measurements in centimetres.
- 140 × 200 cm duvet: choose a cover suitable for 140 × 200 cm.
- 140 × 220 cm duvet: choose a cover suitable for 140 × 220 cm.
- 200 × 200 cm duvet: choose a cover suitable for 200 × 200 cm.

What does 200/220 cm mean?
Some duvet covers are listed with a 200/220 cm length. Read the product description to check whether that particular design accommodates both duvet lengths. A tuck-in flap is extra fabric at the foot of the cover; do not automatically count it as additional space for the filling.
How to measure a duvet without a label
- Remove the cover and lay the duvet flat.
- Smooth the edges by hand without stretching the fabric.
- Measure from one side seam to the other, then from the top edge to the bottom edge.
- Write down width and length separately. If uncertain, check your original order or ask us for help.
For example, your bed may be 160 cm wide while your duvet measures 240 × 220 cm. Choose a cover for that duvet. A 160 cm wide cover will not fit it.
Check pillowcase sizes and the fastening
A matching duvet cover does not necessarily include pillowcases that fit your pillows. Measure your pillows and check the size and number of pillowcases supplied with the selected variant. Also check the fastening: a zip, buttons or an open tuck-in flap changes how you make the bed.
Frequently asked questions about duvet cover sizes
Can I choose a larger cover for extra room?
A larger cover does not make the duvet larger. An oversized cover can leave unfilled fabric at the sides and allow the filling to shift. If you want a larger duvet, choose a new duvet and a cover that fits it.
Is a fitted sheet the same size as a duvet cover?
No. Choose a fitted sheet using the width, length and depth of your mattress or topper. Choose a duvet cover using the dimensions of the duvet.
